KCU-Joplin students present CHAMPS Anatomy Academy at McKinley Elementary School

KCU Score 1 for Health CHAMPS program med students led the CHAMPS Anatomy Academy for students at Joplin’s McKinley Elementary. The educational outreach program aims to help combat childhood obesity, promoting healthy living while encouraging the pursuit of higher education through the teaching of anatomy and basic nutrition.

As part of her thesis, she worked with Bittel at Children’s Mercy analyzing the molecular biology of congenital heart defects and post-transcriptional modifications on spliceosomal RNA.
