KCU is proud to announce that Dale Bratzler, DO, MPH (COM '81), was honored with the Resident Legacy Award at the Richard Staab, DO, Residency Symposium on April 1st in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His Kansas City University (KCU) classmate, Karen Nichols, DO (COM 81), had the privilege of presenting this award to Dr. Bratzler, making it even more special.

Bratzler is a highly accomplished physician and leader, having made many contributions to public health throughout his career. His achievements reached an all-time high recently when he was appointed as the dean of the University of Oklahoma Hudson College of Public Health in February 2023. This is an incredible feat, as no Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine has ever been appointed to dean of any college that is not a college of osteopathic medicine.

“Dr. Bratzler is widely recognized as the voice of public health and infectious disease prevention in Oklahoma,” said OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. “Throughout the peak of COVID-19, he provided much-needed leadership and guidance locally and nationally at a time when reliable information was so critical and difficult to obtain. His background and expertise make him an excellent choice to serve as dean. We are so pleased to have him leading the college that is guiding the next generation of public health experts.”

Congratulations Dr. Bratzler! We are proud to have you as a part of the KCU family. Your legacy is already making history and we look forward to all that is yet to come!
