Program Overview

In response to the growing shortage of anesthesiology providers, KCU is proud to introduce the Master of Health Sciences in Anesthesiologist Assistant (MHS-AA) degree program, launching in January 2026 at our Joplin, Missouri, campus. This program is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to become certified anesthesiologist assistants, providing safe and effective anesthesia care under the medical direction of physician anesthesiologists.

Our mission is to prepare highly competent, non-physician anesthesia providers who will deliver exceptional care to diverse patient populations, particularly in underserved communities. Through rigorous training grounded in ethical principles, evidence-based practices and a commitment to life-long learning, graduates will be ready to meet the growing demand for anesthesia services across the country.
