Kathleen Gould, CPA, MBA, serves as vice president of finance at Kansas City University (KCU), overseeing critical functions including finance, student accounts, financial aid, payroll, procurement and Workday support. With her extensive background in budgeting and forecasting, she directs both the annual budget process and the financial forecast for the university.
Since joining KCU in 2012, Gould has been instrumental in restructuring the finance and accounting departments, enhancing internal controls and reporting processes. Her leadership has resulted in 13 consecutive years of successful financial and compliance audits. Gould played a key role in implementing and optimizing KCU’s Workday enterprise platform, significantly improving KCU's operational efficiency. As a member of the President's Cabinet, she contributes to KCU's strategic initiatives and collaborates with diverse stakeholders to achieve institutional goals. Her expertise has been particularly valuable in developing financial and administrative processes for the Oral Health Center within the College of Dental Medicine.
With over 25 years of experience in financial and organizational leadership, Gould’s career began at KPMG, where she gained expertise in both audit and consulting across various industries. She has also held financial leadership and consulting roles in various small and mid-sized entities and co-founded two businesses.
Gould's commitment to community service is evident through her active participation and board leadership with local organizations. She holds an Executive MBA from Rockhurst University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri.
