Vice President Legal and Chief Compliance Officer

Maureen Redeker, JD, serves Kansas City University as vice president for legal and chief compliance officer. Prior to joining KCU, she served as general counsel at Southern Utah University (SUU). In her role there, she provided strategic counsel to university leadership on a wide range of legal-related areas, including regulatory compliance, employment law, data security and privacy, risk management, contracts, and the oversight and direction of outside legal counsel. Ms. Redeker also developed significant legal infrastructure and processes to better serve the university during a time of significant growth.

Prior to her tenure at SUU, she held several increasingly responsible roles at Kansas State University, ultimately serving as deputy general counsel. She has spoken at several national conferences on a variety of higher education legal topics and serves on the National Association of College and University Attorneys Annual Conference Planning Committee. Originally from the Kansas City, area, Ms. Redeker began her career as a federal judicial law clerk to Judge John Lunstrum before joining a large international law firm. She received her JD, summa cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and her BA and BS degrees, summa cum laude, from Maryville University of St. Louis. While at Maryville, Ms. Redeker was a four-year letter winner on the varsity women’s basketball team.
