Dear KCU Community,

Dr. Marc B. Hahn, KCU President and Chief Executive OfficerAs our country’s battle with the pandemic wages on, I want to thank all the members of our KCU family for continuing to follow the science and adhere to public health best practices to keep our campus communities safe.

KCU has continued to have much lower positivity rates than the general population. As communicated earlier this week by Provost O’Connor, we were pleased to be able to open up more of our campus facilities for our students’ academic use as a result of those successes. However, now is not the time to take our foot off the accelerator. It is critical that we sustain our efforts in order to stay on a forward path that we hope will allow for increasing levels of re-opening.

Here are some thoughts I shared nationally in The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA) on the persistent tension between politics and science — a dynamic that is at the heart of our country’s difficulties in overcoming this pandemic. (You can also access the commentary via PDF.)

I have never been more proud of our students, faculty, staff and alumni. We are not out of the woods yet and must continue to work hard. I thank you again for your continued dedication to fighting COVID-19, adhering to sound public health guidelines and for all that you do for KCU!

Yours Truly,

Marc B. Hahn, DO
President and Chief Executive Officer
