COVID-19 Vaccine Options
Updated Jan. 18, 2022
Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 remains the most effective way of protecting you and our campus community from getting sick or severely ill with COVID-19. It is extremely important that you not only complete the recommendations associated with your primary vaccine doses but that you also ensure you are no more than 6 months from receiving those doses and if you are, that you receive a booster dose. Your vaccination status will now play a role in the quarantine and isolation guidance that will be specific to you and your situation.
If you would like to see additional data on the effectiveness of COVID vaccines, you can find that information here.

Vaccine Public Service Announcements
In collaboration with Access Health and Family Care, Freeman Health System, Mercy Hospital Joplin and local news media outlets, KCU produced a series of public service announcements for broadcast in the Joplin area. These PSAs are intended to provide personal testimonials and additional information regarding the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines in an effort to help increase the regional vaccination rate.
KCU Supports Vaccination and Immunization
Kansas City University strongly adheres to the medical evidence demonstrating that immunizations protect the public from highly communicable and deadly diseases. Throughout the university’s history, our student education has integrated and continues to support vaccination guidelines as set out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
KCU advocates for and will participate in efforts to provide easy access to COVID-19 vaccinations in order to further our mission to improve the well-being of the communities we serve.
KCU considers any physician alumni who espouse disinformation regarding the COVID-19 or other vaccinations to be in complete misalignment with the teachings they received during their training at KCU.
