Research Symposium FAQs
- Can I submit more than one abstract?
- Yes, as long you adhere to the submission guidelines.
- I am non-KCU affiliated, do I qualify for the awards?
- No, awards are designated to KCU students.
- When will I know if I have a poster or live presentation?
- After the submission closes and before March 20th, 2023.
- Do I have to be present for poster and Live (podium) presentations?
- Yes, only exceptions are KCU GME residents and the 3rd and 4th year COM students who are rotating in areas outside of the Kansas City and Joplin areas.
- Do I have to submit an abstract to participate and attend the symposium?
- No, you just need to register.
- If I am selected to present live, do I have to make a poster?
- No, you will have either a poster presentation or live presentation.
- How does judging work?
- The first round of judging will be for abstracts to accept them and chose the live presentations. The second round is for posters and live (podium) presentations to determine the award winners. Each poster or live presentation will have at least 2 judges to evaluate.
- I registered for the symposium with no abstract, do I still get the awards lunch?
- You must provide response in the registration form if you want or do not want lunch. Vouchers will be provided for registered attendees who sign up for lunch.
