Registration Information

  • Where can I register for the symposium? 
    • You can register, submit an abstract and sign up to be a judge here.
  • When does registration end?
    • Registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on March 3, 2025.
  • What if I miss the registration deadline? 
    • Unfortunately, we cannot offer extensions, as accurate counts are necessary for planning. Please ensure you register by the deadline.
  • Do I need to submit an abstract to attend the symposium?
    • No, you do not need to submit an abstract to attend, but you do need to register for the event.
  • Can I submit more than one abstract?
    • Yes, you may submit multiple abstracts, provided they meet the submission guidelines.
  • I am not affiliated with KCU-do I qualify for awards? 
    • Awards are reserved for KCU students only.

Presentation Information

  • When will I know if my presentation is a poster or live presentation?
    • You will be notified after submissions close and before March 20, 2025.
  • What size should my poster be?
    • Posters should follow the specific template for KCU posters: 36”W x 48”H. You can access the template here.
  • Do I have to be present for poster and live (podium) presentations?
    • Yes, all presenters must be present unless you are a KCU GME resident or a third- or fourth-year COM student rotating outside of Kansas City or Joplin.
  • If selected for a live presentation, do I also need to create a poster?
    • No, if you are presenting live, you will not need a poster.

Judging Process

  • How does judging work?
    • Round 1: Abstracts will be judged to accept them for the event and select live presentations.
    • Round 2: Posters and live presentations will be evaluated to determine award winners. Each presentation (poster or live) will be judged by at least two judges.
