Kansas City University Honors Cameron Regional Medical Center Physician

(Kansas City, Mo. – July, 11 2022) Kansas City University (KCU), was pleased to honor the achievements of Elisa E. Vinyard, DO, with a proclamation presented to her July 8, 2022, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Jennifer Ingraham, vice president of philanthropy at KCU, presented the proclamation on behalf of osteopathic medical education and the osteopathic profession in honor of Vinyard’s appointment as the 2022-2023 president of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons organization (MAOPS).

“Dr. Vinyard represents everything good and noble about osteopathic medicine,” said Ingraham. “She dedicates her practice to the service of patients in a rural, underserved community. She also makes time to help train future generations of physicians as a clinical preceptor and inspires many medical students to follow in her footsteps and serve in rural areas. KCU is proud of her many accomplishments.”

As president of MAOPS, Vinyard will represent Missouri at the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) House of Delegates, work to increase awareness of osteopathic medicine in the state of Missouri, and advocate for osteopathic physicians throughout the state. MAOPS is involved with continuing education in the field and bringing awareness of the benefits of osteopathic medicine to the general public.

“I am honored to have the ability to care for patients in Cameron and Maysville, and to represent osteopathic physicians throughout the state,” said Vinyard. “I appreciate this recognition from my alma mater, and look forward to working together in improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.”

Vinyard is a 2000 graduate of Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the daughter of a KCU alumni. She was born during the first year her father, Frederick Kiehl, DO attended medical school. Vinyard shared her father’s calling to become a family physician and practices alongside her father. Family is a cornerstone of Vinyard’s life. Many family members were on hand for the proclamation presentation.
