KCU’s Office of Sponsored Programs manages all pre- and post-award sponsored research activity conducted at KCU.
Our office provides a wide range of services to research faculty and other individuals who are interested in pursuing intramural and extramural funding:
- Providing information on funding announcements for federal, state, and industry sources
- Assistance in preparing proposals to be submitted to external funding agencies
- Acting as a liaison between KCU and other institutions to foster collaboration and developing agreements
- Providing training to faculty to further build research capacity
Proposal Review
The Office of Sponsored Programs ensures that all proposals meet federal, state and University guidelines prior to being submitted to an external funding agency. These areas of compliance include, but are not limited to, the following:
- KCU policies and procedures
- Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (commonly called "Uniform Guidance")
- Animal Care and Use (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety (IBC) and Human Subjects (IRB);
- Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer;
- Potential Conflicts of Interest;
- Roles and Responsibilities of PIs/Project Directors;
- Biohazards/Chemical Hazards
- Intramural and Extramural Grants
